What Are You Reading? :) (With a little Giveaway...)

You'll have to forgive me, my dear readers, as I have been preoccupied with a death in the family, as well as a prospective new job.  But since I didn't have a chance to prepare a more detailed post for today, I'll pose a question instead :)

What are you reading right now? :)  Is there a series that you're in to at the moment?

Comment below by 11:59pm CST on Friday 7/25, and I'll randomly choose one lucky reader to receive a mystery prize (don't worry... it's book related!).

I'm reading Billionaire Blend by Cleo Coyle :)
(Be sure to check back in August for your chance to win this cozy along with a handful of others!)

Thanks for stopping by! Everyone have a great day! :)

Just finished Razing the Dead by Sheila Connolly. Just started Landline by Rainbow Rowell. It's been a good summer for books! Sorry to hear of your loss and good luck on the job front.

I am reading Mrs. Poe by Lynn Cullen. I love it! The author really makes you feel that you are back in the 1840s with details about gaslights and pigs rooting in rotten pumpkins in the street!

Sorry to hear that you had a death in the family. You must be experiencing overload with that and a possible new job.'

Hallo, Hallo again Marie!

I was leaving you quite the detailed comment on the Lady Darby post by Ms. Huber!? I am sorry to hear that your going through sorrow and loss at the moment -- never easy to find the joy in blogging when life brings you a moment of bereavement to walk through. My thoughts and heart is with you today -- you can surely take a breathier and I am sure those of us who newly discovered your blog and regularly read your blog will accept a small delay in your schedules.

I nearly finished my first Huber novel "The Anatomist's Wife" except that I was recovering from a nasty spider attack (tweeted about it a bit today) and I was moving in and out of consciousness to where reading was simply not happening! :( I was quite near the end where Lady Darby & Gage had unearthed who the true killer was and how devious and nefarious he was on such a horrid level!? Ooh, my! And, my eyes could not keep up with my heart -- I am reading the conclusion this weekend!

I am also about halfway through "Lemongrass Hope" by Amy Impellizzeri which is a time travel / Magical Realism story which I am thoroughly enjoying on equal measure to "The Anatomist's Wife". I love discovering authors who can knit together a story that takes us to a completely different place and approach their craft with the ability to draw us further into their narrative by the way in which they choose their words and center their stories. (quite a heap of 'in-reading progress' tweets on Lemongrass!)

I'd have tweeted more for Huber, but I've been dealing with lightning storms & power surges! :( Aye.

I want to soak into my next ChocLit Romance: "Flight to Coorah Creek" by Janet Gover as I love the lift of joy their romance novels give me! Always alighted on the relationship which builds between the hero and heroine but all the stories are uniquely their own style and I have not met one I have not felt appreciative for the journey! I wrote a bit about what is on my 'next reads' list in my blog's sidebar, as I have quite a heap I'm getting too in the next week!! :) These came to mind as I was replying back to your enquiry -- readers and book bloggers alike always have a 'book in hand' I think!! :)

Just looking at your sidebar of upcoming bookish events I am noting cosy writers I have wanted to 'read myself' at some point or other within the past five years! :) I clearly have found a wicked new blog to follow! Cheers on that! :)

I'm currently reading Return to Pelican Inn by Dana Mentink, but my next Cozy will be Staged to Death by Karen Rose Smith. And, can't wait to receive Murder, Plain and Simple, and Maple Mayhem so I can add those to my Cozy TBR pile.
Sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you're coping well with the stress that a loss brings.
