Romance Review: An Almost Perfect Christmas by Donna Fasano

When it comes to business, Aaron Chase knows how to succeed. But when his daughter, Izzie, asks him for the perfect family Christmas, the handsome widower feels at a loss about how to make his little girl's dream come true.

Pediatric Nurse Christy Cooper has dedicated her life to taking care of children. She agrees to act as Izzie's stand-in mom for this special holiday and throws herself into making the child's Christmas wish a reality. Maybe this selfless act will somehow alleviate her secret regrets and failures of the past.

The holiday is filled with fun and laughter, and it's amazing how three short days can be so life-changing. When the impish eight-year-old talks the adults into acting out a silly, make-believe wedding, young Izzie is certain the magic of the season will turn the pretend vows into the real thing. The little girl wants her daddy to have Christmas in his life-every single day.

Oh my goodness. Talk about a heartfelt, emotional and beautiful story. Ms. Fasano has written a flawless and raw tale about a single father and his terminally ill young daughter.  Being 8 years old, she's incredibly wise and insightful for her age... but worries about what will happen to her father when she's gone. So, naturally, she's devised quite the plan.

Enter Christy, a pediatric nurse who is more than willing to volunteer to make Izzy's wish come true.  She's a kind and generous person who obviously has a bigger heart than your normal person.  And she's also perfect for Izzy's father, Aaron.  It's just going to take some convincing on Izzy's part.  And boy does she ever!

From the start, you know this book is going to hit every emotion you have.  You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll feel pain and sorrow, and eventually, you'll feel the contentment of a story of this nature.  It's an incredibly written book with a charming romance that you'll feel deep in your core.

Rating: 5 stars

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.  All conclusions reached are my own.
